this is a massive irezumi dragon i drew on my friend ian with sharpies and white eyeliner. it took about eleven hours from start to finish - it was for a time-lapse film project our friend greg was doing. (it's on youtube, here: [link] )

ian was a wonderful model; i think i partially destroyed his spine by making him sit in the same position for so long. =S

Some people have the compulsion of drawing on themselves (and others) with Sharpies. I include myself in this category: it is a good way of rehearsing what a tattoo would look like and tattooers often use it to freehand a design on a customer. People do it and achieve various degrees of success (often very little, to tell the truth). Anyways, when shots of that are submitted to dA, they belong to the Body Painting category. sharpie lapse dragon by *hiraistrange puts everyone to shame with this eleven-hour piece that went down the drain a few hours after its completion.
